The Afro-fusion Group Wazumbians is a Ghanaian music band eminent for their pioneering role in world music around the globe.
The group of seasoned musicians provides a spicy blend of appealing compositions served with embellished rhythmic patterns rooted in African traditions into one soul-satisfying tune, under the creative leadership of longtime producer Wazumbi.
The band’s music is influenced by music giants such as Bob Marley, Salif Keita, Fela Kuti, and Lucky Dube.
Much loved in their home city of Accra, Ghana the Wazumbians have helped bring back a vibrant live music scene in the bustling city.
The band was formed in 2016 and has played at festivals in Nigeria, Togo, and Benin. They have also been on stage with renounced artistes such as; Kanda Bongo man Ambuley, Pat Thomas, and many more.
The music legends have performed at festivals such as Panafest- Ghana, Chale Wotey Festival- Ghana, Adinkra Festival- Ghana, Afrofest- Ghana, Batakari Festival- Ghana, Meet Me There- Ghana, Lagos Theater Festival- Nigeria, MIA Festival- Benin, and many more.
The group also has its own festival called JANKALANGA. This festival is celebrated in Ghana every year and it started in 2018.
The Wazumbians have three albums to their credit namely: BROMBROM AFRICA, TAKONASI, and CHEW CHEW their recent album which was recorded in Paris-France.
Each album contains ten songs all written, composed, and produced by Francis Chapman.
Seen by many music lovers as one of the most exciting live acts across the globe, the Wazumbians hope to take music from Africa to international audiences.
They are currently touring the United States, Canada, Australia, etc.
